Personal Statement:

I was born in Reno, Nevada and grew up in Sparks, Nevada.  I am the younger of two children.  From my mother’s side of the family I received a Southern upbringing, she taught me that the right kind of person does not gossip and will always hold a confidence; trust is important in our family.  I am an extrovert but I do tend to be a private person; people like and trust me.

My Father was a Marine in Korea and retired Police Officer who taught me loyalty, trust and honor.  My family was involved in gold and silver mining; respect for hard work was passed down to me.  My sister and I were required to do daily chores from the age of 10 for which we did not receive allowance.  It was expected for us to do our share, mow the lawn, clean our rooms and care for the pets.

In Middle School I was tested and it was discovered that I had a strong aptitude for detail, abstract reasoning, speed and accuracy - inherited attributes that have served me well and I am grateful for.  At the age of fourteen I took my first paid job in customer service, my managers called me a “natural”, a sentiment later echoed by my managers in the retail industry.  Being polite, open and a good communicator with a terrific attitude, my managers were always amazed at how often clients would request me by name; they knew I would exceed expectations and that I truly enjoy what I do.

For over 20 years I have been working in the service industry, first in hospitality at luxury hotels in private dining and as a butler, then leading me to London’s Ivor Spencer school for Butlers in 2004, and finally to Starkey International in 2008 to pursue a career in private service.  I am comfortable in either informal or old guard butler formal settings.  I like for things to be organized and systematic.  The ability to focus on one employer and meeting their needs would make me most happy.

My strongest standards are administration, entertainment and housekeeping.  My administrative strengths come from the managerial positions I have held, scheduling, inventory, human resources and leading staff are all areas of expertise.  I have also planned, set up for and served at over two thousand entertainment functions ranging from casual to very formal.  The hospitality industry is also the basis for my “camera ready” housekeeping skills; I like things clean and organized and am able to put systems into place, select proper products and train staff accordingly.  I truly enjoy being of service and am dedicated to being the best in my profession.
