Personal Statement: |
For some, being the youngest of six brothers and sisters could be a hard life, however through tragedy, my family grew strong and by the time I was born, the family was a solid foundation for me to grow. Unfortunately my three oldest sisters died during the World War II before I was born. This gave my family an opportunity to heal and grow closer and they gave me the virtues of courage, commitment, ethics and good family values. When I was eight years old, I went to live with my grandmother and it allowed me to get a formal education. Some of my father’s siblings were professors and teachers; they also took advantage of gaining an education. My family taught me to deal with all kinds of situations and problems that came my way. I learned to resolve problems in a polite way and developed the ability to make a difference in the life of others. My grandmother taught me to be generous, loyal and respectful in every occasion. This has served me well in my private and professional life. She also introduced me to traditional Italian Cuisine. These moments of my life allowed me to be trained by my grandmother and my mother, until she died when I was thirteen years old. The training allowed me to fit in and be a productive worker in my family’s restaurant. My formal education began in Chemical Engineering school and I was certified as a Chemical-technician specializing in industrial chemistry. I also attended a Military Culinary School at the age twenty-two years old. I learned how to cook large quantities of food for troops and civilians. This training was very useful when I had to cook for many people during the Naples earthquake of 1980; we succeeded in feeding many people and meeting their needs which was very satisfying. There were many other opportunities to use this valuable training in my life. I first became a private chef in Costa Smeralda Sardinia. After this first position I was fortunate to be placed with families in La Marchesa della Marmora in Roma, where I cooked and prepared specials dishes for distinguished guests and diplomats at The Embassy of Santa Sede (Holy See), and also other official events in the Italian State. Recently, I participated in the Myers Brigg evaluation and my personality type was ESTJ. I see myself as logical, analytical, and objectively critical. I like to organize projects and then act to get things done in a systematic, timely, and efficient manner. I focus on seeing things as they are, not as they might be. Past experience helps me solve problems, and I want to be sure that ideas, plans, and decisions are based on solid fact. I like having definite rules to govern the way things are done. Logical and consistent, I make quick decisions. I’m likely to be most satisfied in work an environment that values setting goals, making decisions, being organized, and getting things done. People count on me to follow through in an organized, efficient, and practical manner. My Top 3 Service Standards are Culinary, Housekeeping and Maintenance. I have a keen eye for detail, perform antiseptic cleaning levels and enjoy keeping a home clean & organized. I am an accomplished chef in many cuisines including low fat meals. I am meticulous and evaluate food and wine products to ensure that quality standards are consistently attained, thanks to my background in chemistry. I always strive to provide the best dining experiences and enjoy entertaining in most any style, but above all it is the style and vision of my employer which remains my top priority. I also have had extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment in homes and on properties. I have excellent chauffeuring skills with experience driving a Bentley. Now that I have obtained my certification as a Household Manager, I am confident that I can create an excellent overall service management plan for my principals. I am very polished, happy self-confident person. My friends find me to have a great sense of humor, funny and easy to work with. I am about leadership with purpose and I am able to communicate that vision clearly thanks to my twenty years of experience coaching Volleyball and Soccer. I have been serving most of my life and come by this ability naturally. |
